KMH ATEX

Safe against the big bang

Without the Big Bang, our universe would not exist. A large fireworks display is always an experience. There are of course some instances where explosions are quite useful - or at least fun. However, explosions in a manufacturing plant or other businesses most certainly are no fun.

Many industries and businesses work with substances, materials and products, which are classified as explosive. Safety rules as the ATEX ("Atmosphere explosive") - Guidelines for the CENELEC-area (EU and EFTA countries) exist for a good reason. Accordingly, they set the technical standards to minimize the explosion risk in endangered areas. As far as our products are concerned this safety is assured.

KMH delivers for all companies that transport ATEX-related goods in pipe systems the entire product spectrum in ATEX-conform finish - from a simple pipe part to the electrically driven swing spout distributor (multi-way distributor). Naturally, we here also offer comprehensive service: analysis of the ACTUAL situation within the range of our products and their own hazardous potentials and profound expert advice for possible solutions and technology implementation with the best safety promises.

For information:  About ATEX

The ATEX directives were issued in particular for the protection of persons who work in explosion-risk areas. In Germany, the directives were adopted as "Explosion Protection Ordinance" or "Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health". These regulations determine among other things how electrical and non-electrical equipment in hazardous zones must be set up to minimize the explosion risk. These concerns

  • "Devices" (machines, equipment, stationary / mobile devices, control parts and equipment parts as well as warning and prevention systems) that individually or in combination are destined for the generation, transmission, storage, measurement, control and conversion of energy and for the processing of materials, those which have their own potential ignition sources and therefore can cause an explosion - as well as -
  • "Components": Components that are necessary for the safe operation of equipment and protective systems but without fulfilling an autonomous function themselves.
